free-time is coming to its end

September 27, 2008

After 2 months free-time and having made great experiences on my vacation to sweden the start of the next semester is only a few days ahead. I really want to finish my bachelor degree with great results. For that I will stick a lot more time into my study than I did before.
In conclusion this means I will not have that much time for playing poker. But in my free-time I will, of course, build up my bankroll.

The big „poker-month“ september after my sweden-trip ended up perfectly.
I’ve planned to reach NL100 at the end of september and after having the BR almost in the mid september ready for NL100 I struggled again. It was an up and down and so I’m glad to have had first shots at NL100 today.
I’ll report in the coming days what’s going on at the new limit.

Also I’m looking forward to become platinum-status this month. 3 days to go and only 600VPP missing. Round about 200VPP to do per day, easy come – easy go.

Cya soon

And by the way: me playing SH! Don’t put trust in the post before. I’ve switched to SH again and after having a good sample size of hands I have to say that SH is much more profitable on these limits.

SH! My doom!

September 11, 2008

I tried to play shorthanded in the midday. But as I said: I tried! The first 500 hands ran very well with an up of round about 2 stacks. Then, in like 2-3 hands it all went down. 3 stacks lost!
But never forget the evening sessions. I played fullring again and with a PT-BB/100 of 5 over 3,400 hands I regained all of my missing money and a lot more.

I don’t think that I will stick to SH in the near future. There are (for me) several disadvantages compared to NL50 FR.
1. more swing on SH
2. only one half of hands per hour (~500) compared to FR (~1,000), but with nearly the same PT-BB/100
–>NL50 FR is much more effective with my play-style these days

Maybe I’ll take a look on SH again when I’ve reached the NL100-tables. Until then I will stick to fullring.

Upswing?

September 10, 2008

Hello again,

it’s running more than well these days, so I’m really looking forward playing NL100 at the end of september /beginning of october.

I’ve played about 12k hands on NL50 now and in summary about 21k hands in september . I’m really satisfied with a PT BB/100 of 4.27 on NL50.
There are still situations in play where I have to act more cautiously, ’cause I am still giving away too much money in some playsituations, but I’m confident to enhance it.

There is not much to talk about but the things I’ve said already.

so I am on my way to NL100 again.

Final Federer – Murray…and of course some poker

September 7, 2008

Hello again,

today I had the biggest upswing of my whole pokercareer. I played NL25 and made round about 12 stacks in the early evening. Weekend-poker is just madness. Everyone’s throwing his money out of the window, right into my opened hands. Love it!
Because of that I’ve reached the 1k mark again and from now on I will not mention the exact bankroll ever again. I didn’t do that playing in april and may, too.

So the next step has begun: NL50! After switching to the new limit I just played about 500 hands. I still have to regain the 12k missing hands of september 3rd to 6th. My joy of playing poker was missing at those days.

So, just one moment before writing this article I’ve watched the semi-final of the US-Open (Nadal vs. Murray). In the last days I enjoy Tennis on TV quite a lot and I am thinking about playing myself when my wintersemester starts.

Tomorrow I will play more than the daily 3k hands for regaining the missing 12k.

Next article will show how the first hands on NL50 went for me.

Season2 starts right now

September 2, 2008

Hello again,

yeah, it’s me! Okay, where should I start. Well, I’ve been travelling to Sweden in August for doing my trekkingtour at the Padjelanta-Nationalpark. And guys I have to tell you that it was an asume experience and I will repeat a vacation like that in the next two to three years, but my next vacation has to have sand and sun.

And coming back from Sweden brings me directly to my next goal: NL100!
Some time has gone since I almost reached the 2k border and maybe you are still aware of the BIG downswing.
Actually I’m starting with about 660$ on NL25. My target is to play every day 3k hands in September. The session of yesterday went quite good with a BB/100 of 2.56, but I discovered some mistakes in my game. Especially the early position play doesn’t seem to be the best. Playing more cautiously when having 1-2 opponents behind me should save me some money.
We will see what the session in the evening of today will bring up.

I’m looking forward playing NL100 in the mid of October, that should be doable for myself.
